10D3R 2013-2015
My intention in choosing the stage name Orthicon was to evoke a new lens through which to view art and gender. Indeed, the image orthicon, a lens attachment from the early days television, allowed camera operators to quickly adjust focal length to change an audience's perspective on the subject being shot. From my on-stage heels and negligee, to the analog projections that bathed me in light, I desperately wanted to change peoples' perception of what electronic music could be. The success I found as Orthicon was short-lived, as feelings of shame and embarrassment prevented me from disseminating this music further than I did. Today I'm happy to offer the first of two Orthicon compilations featuring tons of unreleased music from this era.
All of these songs were written, recorded, and produced between 2013 and 2015. Tracks 2, 4, 11, and 14 were originally featured on "Boundary" by Orthicon and is available at orthiconav.bandcamp.com/album/boundary.
Tracks 3, 5, 6, and 13 were originally featured as demos at soundcloud.com/orthiconAV.
All songs have been remastered for modern sensibilities.
